Following this is a period of study at the Maritime Studies Department at either the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town or the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in Durban. <em>(NB : Prospective cadets should ascertain the exact duration and contents of these courses before applying as the structure is due to change shortly.
